Who is this workshop for?

Whether you're a manager, negotiator, facilitator, parent or therapist - interacting constructively with others is vital to the success of building relationships and improving mental well-being.

What will you learn?

This workshop will give you the tools, techniques, and approaches to begin to understand the role emotions play in your life and importantly to ensure they  are working for you, and not against you. 

You will develop your behavior analysis abilities, and enhance your skills in reading others through verbal and non-verbal cues.

You will learn how to use this advanced competency to gain deeper insights into the thoughts and feeling of those you interact with and aid you in building constructive and positive relationships.

During this course you will... 

  • Cover a brief history of emotions and why they are vital to our survival
  • Analyize your own emotional profile to better understand how you interact with others
  • Adopt a framework for developing your emotional skills
  • Learn practical strategies to manage your own emotions
  • Learn practical strategies to interact well with others who may be prone to emotional outbursts
  • Employ an effective conversation management model, so you are equipped for all types of encounters

  • Understand how emotions work
  • Know your emotional triggers and how to manage them
  • Be aware of emotional impulses from the outset
  • Respond to emotionally charged situations, and not react impulsively towards them
  • Be able to read emotions in others through their verbal and non-verbal behaviors

Who is your instructor?

David Stephens is a Paul Ekman trainer and the Joe Navarro Body Language Academy Program Manager and Senior Mentor. David has been training individuals and companies from around the world in effective commumnication skills, including how to detect deception and manage emotions using reasearch-based and practical emotional intelligence knowledge and skills. He draws on his years of experience working in the fields of international relations and national security negotiations, where he developed important communication skills - especially designed to achieve success when negotiating difficult conversations and managing emotions in a range of different circumstances.

What if I can't make the session?

The session will be recorded and all registered participants will have the opportunity to view the recording for up to a week after the event has been conducted.
